Why use a Programmable ECU

"I see a few different companies that alter fuel injection settings on the new bikes. Why do I buy yours other than you need the money for a new semi to take your team to the track? And im not a computer head.So can you tell me in terms my 9 year old daughter would understand? Because I dont have unlimited money to try 4 brands"


These Programmable FI ECU are for those that want to race and have modified motor's. If you plan on running a premium fuel you can take advantage of programming the ECU for the fuel type you will use and gain an increase in performance over the stock unit. By programming you can also tailor the power curve to your track conditions (better traction) .

The ECU product is not for everyone since not everyone is looking for the competitive edge.
most 9 year old girls would not under stand this product since they don't ride.
But most 9 year old's would be able to down load a program to the unit using a PC so if you decide to try this product
your daughter will be able to work with you, We also have an excellent tech support service.

As far as which brand to use we offer 2 different ones the JD ignitions and the Athena GET ECU's
Both of these are used by American and European motocross champions . So they are well tested
also we offer Tech support on the product and actually track support and dyno tuning if you are in the area.

Why to use these... like I said it is for the racer looking for the edge over his competitor
Also the Stock ECU is calibrated to the stock motor .
the calibration (tune) that is the factory ECU is not correct for a motor that runs race fuel has a cam or even raised compression.
It will run and you will possibly make more power but to take advantage of all the money you spent for the MODS you should know that
your fuel AFR (jetting) is correct since the stock unit is only expecting to supply fuel to a stock motor.

there is a good chance with a highly modified motor you will run the fuel LEAN and possibly have to much timing.
this can destroy the motor, and make you wish you had spent the extra money for a programmable ECU

My Opinion is the first thing you should get is a programmable ECU and then make your engine MODS.

Back in the Carb days I never ever heard of anyone making MODS to their motor and not having to make jetting changes
it is no different today. except there is no carb fuel changes must be made and this is the new way to do it.

What is Fuel Injection

Fuel injection is a system for introducing fuel into an internal combustion engine. It has become the primary fuel delivery system used in automotive gasoline engines, having almost completely replaced carburetors in Automotive use in the late 1980s.
it is now impossible to find a Car or truck that does not have Electronic Fuel Injection ( EFI)

However Motorcycles and especially off road and Motocross bikes have been late coming to this new technology .

A fuel injection system is designed and calibrated specifically for the type of fuel and Octane it will handle. Also the fuel injection calibration is designed for the type of motor to be used. Most fuel injection systems are for gasoline or diesel applications.

With the advent of electronic fuel injection (EFI), EFI's programmable firmware has permitted common hardware to be used with different fuels.
Carburetors were the predominant method used to meter fuel on gasoline engines before the widespread use of fuel injection. A variety of injection systems have existed since the earliest usage of the internal combustion engine.

The primary difference between carburetors and fuel injection is that fuel injection atomizes the fuel by forcibly pumping it through a small nozzle under high pressure, while a carburetor relies on suction created by intake air rushing through a venturi to draw the fuel into the air stream.

The biggest difference is EFI uses a computer to control all aspects of the injection process as well as the timing and ignition process.
Because of this you are more able to make the combustion process more efficient which means Better Power .

ANY TIME YOU MODIFY your motor or use a different octane fuel you will gain an advantage from reprogramming the EFI system.

your stock EFI system is made to run a stock motor the best way to take advantage of the performance parts bolted to the bike are to TUNE the EFI stytem for those MODS.
